Door still open to file a BP Oil Spill Claim

On Behalf of | Feb 18, 2015 | Tampa Business BP Oil Spill Claim

As you may be aware, the door remains open for businesses to file a BP Oil Spill Claim for a finite amount of time. The new deadline to file any unsubmitted business claims is now firmly set as June 8, 2015.

Eligible local businesses and Tampa Bay entrepreneurs are not required to be located along the Gulf Coast. This means BP Claims can expand beyond commercial fishermen; resorts, restaurants and other businesses thought to have suffered losses. It is only necessary that provided financial statements illustrate losses for a period of three months after the 2010 oil spill, compared with profits for a similar time frame prior to the disaster.

During 2014 alone, we collected more than $500,000.00 in BP Oil Spill Claims for our clients across Hillsborough County and Pinellas County. We are sure there are many Gulf area business owners in the area who may have previously been hesitant to file a BP Claim as a result of their relentless campaign against the Settlement Program. We hope these business owners find themselves encouraged by this recent affirmation of the validity of the Settlement Program.

We want you to know that we are glad to review potential BP claims on behalf of any remaining local business owners who are unsure if they qualify for compensation from BP. If there is anything we can do to aid you in submitting a claim, or you have any questions regarding the extension to file a BP Oil Spill Claim, please call us at 813.254.2637.
