Can I Still File A BP Oil Claim

The Deepwater Horizon oil spill, which is also referred to as the BP oil spill; the BP oil disaster or the Macondo blowout officially celebrated its three year anniversary on April 20, 2013.  The devastating explosion that killed eleven workers and allowed oil to flow unchecked into the Gulf of Mexico for a total of eighty-seven days, was just the beginning of BPs financial and legal battles.

The Deepwater Horizon Settlement Program receives thousands of claims each month, all from a wide variety of businesses across the Florida Gulf Coast region.  Nearly 160,000 claims have been submitted between all eligible states, and Florida leads the pack with nearly 50,000 claims filed and Louisiana is a close second with 42,000 claims filed.

The Deepwater Horizon Settlement program has no cap, meaning that BP is obligated to pay out any and all valid claims submitted before April 22, 2014.  Claims administrator Patrick Juneau remains in support of potential claimants, recently reminding individuals; businesses and nonprofit organizations that they have until the 2014 date to file and economic or property damage claim.  Juneau has said “I feel it is part of my duty as administrator to inform the public of important deadlines as they approach.”  He also assured that claims are being processed as quickly as possible.

It is possible for a claimant to file their claim on their own, or work with a referral service to file a BP settlement claim.  It is possible that going the route of self-filing can be tedious, and carry the risk of disqualification or rejection if a claim is not filed correctly.  The office of Frank Miranda Attorneys at Law is prepared to handle BP oil spill settlement claims as efficiently as possible, in order to optimize the financial settlement. The only thing that we need from clients is information to file the claim, and then we handle all of the logistics of your BP oil spill settlement claim.

All businesses and nonprofits along the Florida Gulf Coast are strongly encouraged to file a claim, and the office of Frank Miranda Attorneys at Law is prepared to take your call at 813-254-2637.
